Acquiring the coveted Meishan

we found some!!!

after searching high and low we found some Meishan pigs. available. babies. ready to go.

and the best part…. IN our state.

so we traveled. 3.5 long but also short hours. we traveled. discussed if maybe we were being set up, lead astray. but alas, we arrived!!!! the sweetest people, likeminded people. a wife and husband so proud of their farm, so proud of their animals (I mean honestly, all of them were pretty awesome!) we got tackled by a super sweet insanely large.. puppy! I think she was 6 or 8 months old, and already bigger than any or all of our dogs. but also sweet as could be….to humans. she is being taught to be a live stock guardian, which I didn’t think was needed where they were at but turns out they had had recent (within a few days) sightings ON their property of a mountain lion. go girl go!

after meeting all their super sweet animals, we finally met our girls!

shy, but full of energy and then eventually so calm and so cuddle-y.
